WE ASKED THE DUCKS...
What did you do during the offseason after winning the Stanley Cup?

J.S. Giguere
We bought a new house in Montreal and that kept me pretty busy, doing landscaping and all of that. I did my goalie school in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I also got my son baptized. That was pretty important. I can’t forget that one!

Rob Niedermayer
I got married (to Jessica) back home in British Columbia and we took a honeymoon in Fiji.

Chris Kunitz
I had a lot of weddings to attend, including Rob Niedermayer’s. I had three college friends get married on back-to-back weekends in Michigan. My fiancée and I planned our wedding a little, which is in July. Other than that, it was kind of short and sweet and busy. I visited with family in the Chicago and Michigan area.

Travis Moen
It was a pretty typical summer for me. I went back home to (Stewart Valley, Saskatchewan) and worked on the farm quite a bit. I went to Kelowna (British Columbia) and Vancouver for a few weddings. I stayed in Kelowna the last few weeks before camp. Other than that, nothing too exciting.

Corey Perry
I just went back to London, Ontario and trained and spent time with family and friends. I pretty much laid low. I didn’t do too much.

Ryan Getzlaf
I went to Hawaii and I went to New York for some promotional stuff with the Cup and I went to Miami. All good times.

Samuel Pahlsson
I didn’t have time for any trips. I stayed at home in Sweden for most of the time, didn’t do anything special. Just relaxed.

George Parros
I went on the Fan Cruise in July. That was a lot of fun. I mostly hung around here in Southern California, at my place in Hermosa Beach, doing my training. Nothing too crazy though.

Sean O’Donnell
I traveled a bit. I went over and visited Teemu in Finland, then went to see a friend of mine in Sweden. I did some surfing when I was back here, in Manhattan Beach. I really just rested up and got ready for the year.It was a fun summer, but a short one.

Kent Huskins
I visited a lot of friends in the Ottawa area, which is where I’m from. There were a lot of people who were pretty excited back there. Everyone back home was watching, since the Senators were in the Finals. Everyone wanted to know what it was like, and I definitely heard a lot of joking around from Senators fans. But everyone was pretty gracious and happy for me. I got invited to a lot of charity golf tournaments too. That was definitely new.

Joe DiPenta
My sister got married back home in Halifax on June 16, which was just a little more than a week after we won. My wife and I went on a vacation to the Cayman Islands for a week. I spent time in Philadelphia for 10 days with my wife’s family. Other than that, I just worked out hard and played about five games of golf.

Todd Marchant
I went on the Ducks Fan Cruise, which was a lot of fun. We enjoyed that. I went to Vermont and visited my in-laws. I had my hockey school in Buffalo, at the rink I grew up in. It was one week and we had 252 kids. There are a lot of players’ kids that are in the league and we’ve had guys come through the school who have been drafted. It’s a lot of fun. It was a short summer, but we’ll take a lot more of those if it’s possible.
